![]() The Screaming Death's egg resembles a Whispering Death's egg, but is larger in size and colored white. The Screaming Death is attracted to bright and intense light, unlike the Whispering Death. Seemingly, the dragon succeeded to overcome some of weaknesses unique to the main species through mutation. The Screaming Death is relatively intelligent, as it did not fall for the reflection of Hiccup's shield the second time. There is only one in the show so its maturity level is not fully known either. The Screaming Death also seems to have a mutated maturity cycle and seems to become a full grown adult faster. The Screaming Death is also able to plow right through massive sea stacks with ease, just like the Red Death. The scales of the beast are extremely tough, as it is not phased by being hit with the Deadly Nadders' spines. It also differs from the Whispering Death as its' tunnels are so large that they can cause islands to sink. The Screaming Death is attracted to light as opposed to having an aversion (only for young dragons), as the Whispering Deaths do. Judging by the massive size of what is apparently a hatchling, this albino giant is probably one of the biggest dragons of them all. ![]() This is because it uses its excessively long tail as a sort of rotor. It also has three rows of teeth, but they are aligned differently than those of the Whispering Death, set in a chin reminiscent of a Red Death.ĭespite the Screaming Death's size, it's wings are only the size of Toothless's. It is white in color, has large red eyes, a longer and a more massive body, and larger tail than a normal Whispering Death. Hiccup demonstrates that that's still a weakness.The Screaming Death appears to be a heavily mutated, albino Whispering Death. Weakened by the Light: The Whispering Deaths flee from sunlight, as usual, but the Screaming Death is attracted to it instead.Gobber gleefully skips off when it becomes apparent that the village needs to conserve water. The Pig-Pen: The episode starts with the main characters trying to give Gobber a bath, only to find a dry well.Pass the Popcorn: The twins sit back and fondly watch the chaos the Whispering Deaths cause, until the Screaming Death's appearance elicits an Oh, Crap! reaction from them.Make Me Wanna Shout: The Screaming Death gets its name from its dragon disorienting scream.Thou Shalt Not Kill: Despite having incapacitated the Screaming Death, Hiccup refuses to deliver a lethal blow to the dragon.The Last of These Is Not Like the Others: It's albino, gigantic, has a machinegun style Breath Weapon, and lacks the Langolier-like mouth Whispering Deaths are known for.The Juggernaut: Screaming Death, which is unstoppable and thus has to be tricked into defeat.Greed: Snotlout starts charging the villagers for the rationed water.Giant Mook: The Screaming Death is only a hatchling, yet six times larger than a normal Whispering Death.Funny Background Event: After Tuffnut makes a comment on Ruffnut's butt, she quickly turns to examine it before punching her brother.Foreshadowing: Hiccup notices one Whispering Death tunnel much larger than the others.Keep in mind that Thunderdrums are hard of hearing, nearly deaf, when out of water. When the town's well runs dry, Hiccup and Toothless discover the group of baby Whispering Death dragons in the tunnels underneath the village planted there by Alvin and the Outcasts.
